Wants to see more use of Adell Durbin

Thank you for the informative article about Adell Durbin Park in the June 11 edition of the Stow Sentry. I believe Stow has a wonderful variety of parks. Our wedding reception was at Silver Springs Lodge and our three children use the parks in our city sports programs.

The end of this school year marks the beginning of a new phase in your life. You've made it this far, but you've still got a long way to go. You may or may not have been one of the top achievers -- those with the gold and silver flair on their caps and gowns at graduation.

More than 600 Ohio children still have not made it home

COLUMBUS -- Beverly Rose Potts disappeared from a neighborhood park in Cleveland back in 1951. There's a picture of her in overalls, riding a swing, smiling. Erica Baker was last seen taking her dog for a walk in suburban Dayton in 1999.

C'est la vie: One reporter remembers another on Memorial Day

On my office desk is a row of books, most either journalism texts or reference books. But two are collections of writings by a man who, while not exactly a fighting member of the military, though technically a Navy enlisted man, deserves to be remembered on Memorial Day.

Our View: Have fun Memorial Day, but don't forget its purpose

Memorial Day is more than just a three-day weekend. Although it did not become an official federal holiday until 1971, Americans have been honoring military veterans who died in wars since after the Civil War.

Capital News: Enough with this 'Happy' Memorial Day nonsense

I started filing an annual Memorial Day column a few years back, after witnessing bad behavior at a Columbus-area service. Here's an updated version.

Capital News: Vacation trip to Hawaii? Orconsider visiting Cleveland?

COLUMBUS -- Remember that time the governor urged people to consider Ohio for their vacation destinations, rather than heading to exotic places outside of the state's borders? "We are stressing stay-cations in Ohio this year," he told a crowd. No, not that governor.

Letter: GOP healthcare bill a 'Yugo while pretending it's a Cadillac'

When the Republicans promised to repeal and replace Obamacare, they said it would be just as good if not better than the "failing" law, and cheaper. If we imagine health insurance as a car, that would mean the same car would cost less.

Letter: A 'ridiculous display of immaturity' by the president

Unbelievable. We could improve the government by shutting it down. Health care would be better if we kicked 24 million off it. This country will gain in status by building larger detainment centers and a beautiful wall. Making peace in the Mideast shouldn't be all that hard.

Letter: Agrees with need for Issue 5, but will vote against Issue 4

I share with my fellow Munroe Falls City Councilmembers the importance of Issue 5. Issue 5 is a police levy and identical in nature to the police levy we attempted to pass in 2014. I believe the police department needs an assured funding stream without total reliance on the General Fund.
