Almost time for Fishcreek's Raccoon Run on April 30

Registration for the Sixth Annual Fishcreek Raccoon Run is still open. The Raccoon Run will be on Sunday, April 30, and will consist of a 5K and 1-mile Fun Run centered around the neighborhoods of Fishcreek Elementary School.

The Stow-Munroe Falls High School Student Council is hosting a Daddy/Daughter dance, "A Night Where the Sky Meet the Sea," on May 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. It will take place at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. The event is open to all elementary schools in the district (grades K-4).

On April 5, Magical Theatre Company (MTC) performed two plays at Highland Elementary School, part of the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District. Both plays were written by fourth-grade students at Highland. The event was sponsored by the Highland Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

ASO announces inaugural Music Educator of the Year Award

The Akron Symphony Orchestra is currently accepting nominations for its inaugural Music Educator of the Year Award. This award will be presented by Music Director Christopher Wilkins at the Nov. 18 concert at E. J. Thomas Hall.

Summit ESC's Talk Program receives grant

Summit Educational Service Center's (ESC) TALK program was recently awarded a grant from the GPD Foundation for its Hear, Talk, Learn Expanded project. The program will receive $6,951 to be used immediately. Dollars will also be used for equipment and training for the 2017-18 school year.

A recent financial audit of the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District by Auditor of State Dave Yost's office has returned a clean audit report. The district's excellent record keeping has qualified it for the Auditor of State Award with Distinction.
