The Silent Art Auction

and Raffles will take place March 2 during the Downtown Akron Arti Gras Artwalk.

It will be in the Box Gallery, The Artists of Rubber City exhibition space, on the third floor of the Summit Artspace, 140 East Market St. in downtown Akron. Admission is free, and the event runs from 5 to 10 p.m. with bidding ending at 9 p.m., allowing pick up until 10 p.m. (other pick- up times will be available)

The Artists of Rubber City (AoRC) organization was founded in 1978 and has 140 members. The Silent Art Auction and Raffles fundraiser event is to help the AoRC thrive and give back to it the community. Since the organization is nonprofit, the donations earned from this event will help with the upkeep for the Box Gallery exhibition space and maintain the AoRC scholarship and grants. This event will have members and non-members artwork presented for auction with "buy-it-now" prices. This event will be advertised on 91.3 Akron/Canton the Summit FM radio, and has a continuing list of donating artists. The organization will raffle off items such as a year membership to the Akron Art Museum and a Don Drumm gift certificate. Local musicians will provide live entertainment, and "Sheepy Boo Peep" will make an appearance for a fine art performance.

Featured artists include the Akron Art Prize first place winner Ron White, Claudia and Michael from Zeber-Martell Clay Studio and Gallery, Don Drumm Studios and Gallery, Akrona Galleries, Mark Soppeland, John Sokol, Joan Colbert, Jack Valentine, Leona Bowser and more.
