Resource Fair set for May 4

The city of Munroe Falls is partnering with Williger Legal Group LLC of Munroe Falls to sponsor the Fifth Annual Resource Fair for seniors at the Lehner Community Center at 35 South River Road in Munroe Falls on May 4 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Resource Fair will be an event for seniors to come and learn about valuable senior-oriented products and services. Vendors will be providing a free sampling of fresh fruits, vegetables or healthy snack for the seniors to take home and enjoy. Vendors include legal advice, consumer protection, home health care, audiology, hospice, skilled nursing, senior living, mortgage information, and more.

Guests are encouraged to bring friends and enjoy the afternoon. No reservations are required. For more information, contact Anne DiCola at Munroe Falls City Hall at 330-688-7491.

Spring Clean Up

Stow Munroe Falls High School Student Council will be providing a free chore service for area senior adults. The program, sponsored by the Stow-Munroe Falls School District and the Stow Parks & Recreation Department, will allow senior adult residents 65+ who reside within the Stow-Munroe Falls School District the opportunity to have outdoor chores completed at no cost. Students will work in work groups of 3-4 students with an adult adviser cleaning flower beds, garages, moving patio furniture etc. of the registered senior adults. The program is limited to one hour of work at each home and is scheduled for April 25. Participants may choose a morning or afternoon time frame and are asked to supply any necessary cleaning supplies or tools for their home project. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required by contacting the Stow Parks & Recreation Department, 3760 Darrow Road in Stow. For more information 330-689-5100.

STOW SUNSHINERS

The Stow Sunshiners host a Monthly Luncheon at Stow-Glen Retirement Village. The luncheon is open to area senior adults 55+ and features a catered lunch for $8.

Cards -- Fridays at noon. A variety of games are played.

Dominoes -- First and third Tuesday of each month at 12:30 p.m.

Bridge Club --Third Monday of each month at 1 p.m.

Active Senior Adults Programs -- Call the Stow Parks & Recreation Department at 330-689-5100 for details on activities. The Stow Senior Center is at 3968 Darrow Road. Open hours are Tuesdays and Thursday from noon to 3 p.m. and during scheduled programs.

Paint Party Landscape & Lunch - April 28 at noon. Step by step painting instruction plus lunch. There is a fee.

Spring Fling Dance - April 21 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Gene Fiocca Dance Band. There is a fee.

Mini Fairy Garden - April 24 at 1 p.m. A tiny garden in a bowl make it & take it home. There is a fee.

Kentucky Derby Luncheon - May 5 at noon. Our version of this popular event! There is a fee.

Senior Fitness Classes -- Cardio Fit Tuesday 9:15 a.m.; Seated Yoga Tuesdays 10:15 a.m.

Senior Stretch -- 9:15 a.m. Thursdays; Strength & Tone 10:15 a.m. Thursdays. All Fitness Classes Silver Sneakers or Punch Card.

Beginning Line Dance -- Thursdays 3 p.m. Fee per class

Brain Games -- First and third Thursdays 1 p.m. Group puzzles and games to give your brain a workout.

Chair Massage -- Neck, back and shoulders. Second Mondays of month. Appointment required. There is a fee.

Ask A Social Worker -- Questions on available social services for you or loved one. Contact Arbors of Stow at 330-688-1188.

Foot Care Appointments -- Nail trim, callous reduction and more. Call for appointment. Fee

Hearing Checks Appointments -- Hearing screening with Ascent Audiology. No fee.

Mah Jongg -- First and third Tuesdays 12:30 p.m. For those who know the game.

Breakfast Buddies -- Third Friday of each month 9 a.m. Meet at an area restaurant to share good food and conversation. Call to register and for restaurant of the month.

Health Screens -- Second Thursday noon to 1 p.m. Glucose, Blood Pressure.

Cards -- Wednesdays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Stow Senior Center. A variety of card games are played, a partner is not required to participate.

Evening Cards -- First Monday each month 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Variety of card games and chess.

Senior Bingo -- Second and fourth Thursday of each month 1 p.m. $1 for 10 games at Stow Senior Center

Dominoes -- Second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 12:30 p.m. No cost. Learn to play this great social game.

Senior Bowling at Stow Kent Entertainment -- Thursday mornings. New bowlers and subs are welcome. Contact Jack Garner at 330-688-5340.

Travel Lunch Bunch -- Enjoy a new restaurant each month as you travel by bus to an out of town location. Bus fee and order off menu. Call for destinations.
